Scorpio was a web application developed by WeDevelop for use by clients on the website. Its aim was to simplify the project quotation process for the client.
I was given responsibility for all design aspects of the project, from initial conception and whiteboard mock ups through to wireframe production and the finished prototype for the development team.
Although the internal budget for the project meant that formal UX testing and research wasn’t fully explored, we were able to test the prototypes using simple online testing tools such as usability hub. To work around this limitation I also tried to base the underlying structure on standard purchase process applications.
In order to create a familiar look and feel for the user I also hewed closely to Google material design standards, using cards, paper and floating action buttons.
The products are stored on cards with custom illustrations showing each product. Navigation information is displayed at all times so as to avoid confusing the user and letting them where in the process they are at all times.
